| Project Purpose | ClimateWizard is an easy-to-use internet-based tool for analyzing and mapping climate change at specific areas of interest globally, regionally and locally. This tool--developed by Evan Givetz (University of Washington), Chris Zganjar (The Nature Consevancy) and George Raber (University of Southern Mississippi)--uses computer programming methods, geographic information systems (GIS) and cutting-edge internet technologies to analyze large databases of climate models located remotely on computer servers.
ClimateWizard provides access to a wide range of climate data (both past observed and future modeled) and runs powerful analyses that address relevant ecological questions within specific geographic areas. The analysis products produced by this tool—maps, graphs, tables, and GIS layers—can be used to for environmental and ecological research, management, planning, policy, and advocacy. |
